Start with the membership barcode
Most recreation centers issue a plastic card or a printed barcode. That barcode is all you need to add your membership to Apple Wallet.
How Apple Wallet fits in
Apple Wallet stores digital passes on your iPhone. Once the pass is saved, you can open it quickly and scan at the front desk.
Official Wallet passes require an Apple Developer account and Apple-issued pass keys (certificates). Many local rec centers skip that setup, even though they already use barcodes.
Create the pass with WalletWallet
WalletWallet converts your barcode into a valid .pkpass file that Apple Wallet can store.
- Scan the membership barcode with your camera or upload a photo.
- Set the pass title to the rec center name.
- Pick a color preset for quick recognition.
- Download the .pkpass file and open it in Apple Wallet.
Use it at the gate
Keep the pass near the top of your Wallet list so it is easy to find. On iPhone, Apple Wallet opens fast and bumps brightness for scanning.
Scan tips
If the barcode is small or glossy, increase screen brightness and hold the phone steady for a second. Most scanners read reliably with a bright, stable screen.
Quick recap
Even if your rec center does not support Apple Wallet, you can create a pass from the barcode. WalletWallet makes it a fast, one-time setup.
