How to Create Apple Wallet Passes from any loyalty card for retail rewards

This guide explains how to create Apple Wallet passes from any loyalty card when a retailer only provides a barcode in email or a basic app.

Find the barcode value

Some retailers show your rewards barcode only inside an email, receipt, or basic app. The key is the barcode value itself, which you can scan or copy.

How Apple Wallet fits in

Apple Wallet makes it easy to store and scan loyalty passes at checkout. Once the pass is in Wallet, it opens quickly and displays a bright, scannable barcode.

Official Wallet support requires an Apple Developer account and Apple-issued pass keys (certificates). Many retailers avoid the setup, even though they already issue barcodes.

Create the pass with WalletWallet

WalletWallet turns your barcode into a .pkpass file that Apple Wallet can store.

  1. Scan the barcode from your email or upload a screenshot.
  2. Set the title to the retailer name.
  3. Add an optional label like your member number.
  4. Download the .pkpass file and open it in Apple Wallet.

Keep it ready at checkout

With the pass in Wallet, you do not need to open the store app or search old emails. It is a single tap to scan and earn rewards.

Scan tips

If the barcode is shown on another screen, take a clear screenshot and upload it to WalletWallet. For long numeric codes, select Code 128 so the scanner reads it correctly.

Quick recap

When a retailer only provides a barcode in email or a basic app, you can still use Apple Wallet. WalletWallet creates the pass so your rewards are always one tap away.
